Frequently asked questions: 

Can I ride one of your horses?

YES! We have many beautiful school horses available. 

Our school horses are not allowed to carry more than 15% of their body weight, if you have any concerns please contact us. 

Can I bring my own horse?

ABSALUTLY ! We always encourage riders to bring their own horses and learn together.

Do I need to bring a helmet ?

We offer school helmets for use, BUT we do recommend each rider has their own helmet after 3 sessions. 

What do I wear for horse riding?

All riders must wear closed in shoes , long pants and a sun safe shirt. This is for their own safety and comfort. We will refuse to teach you if you fail to wear appropriate attire.

Do you have a cancelation policy ? 

24 hours’ notice is required for cancellation of any lesson regardless of the reason. 
If cancelling with 24+ hour notice, you will not be charged for that session.

If cancelling with less than 24 hour notice, the lesson will not be rescheduled
or refunded, regardless of the reason. 
Participants  will be required to pay the lesson fee.

Where do I park?

We have a large car park that is easy to see as you drive in. To your right is car parking and to your left is horse float parking. Please no not drive past the parking sign, or drive under the trees onto the grass. 

 Where can I be updated on weather cancellations, lesson availability and special events?

We diligently update our facebook and instagram pages with all this information, plus other fun facts and posts. Please follow our social media pages to stay up to date. 

Can I pay cash for my lesson?

Yes, we accept cash or card payments. All payments must be made on the day of the lessons. 

What if I'm running late for my lesson?

Please do your best to be a few minutes early for you lesson, as we are tightly scheduled and being late for your lesson will result in a shorter lesson for you. If you are running late, please send us a text to let us know. If we are running late, rest assured you will receive your full lesson time.

My daughter has been attending Maywood for 12 months. Katt and her team ensure each rider learns how to properly care for the horses whilst learning and refining riding skills in a safe and fun environment. Highly recommended.
